Practice Different Shooting Positions

Shooting a gun isn't just about shooting on a static line. When you register for classes with the Gun Permit Center, we'll teach you a variety of shooting positions. Let's face it; not every situation allows a gun owner to grab their guns and get into a classic gun range firing stance. At the Gun Permit Center, we teach a mindset. There's much more to using and owning a firearm that getting your permit to carry.

How Do We Train Our Students?

We don't want to go through life paranoid that something bad is going to happen to us. But we also don't want to be in the Walmart parking lot wishing we had a pistol with us or knew how to use it. It's important that you have a thorough and comprehensive gun training background if you want your permit to carry in MN, and our training goes above and beyond to exceed all course expectations.

The Gun Permit Center Practices Safety First

Your instructor will take you through multiple live-fire drills to show you the things you should be practicing after you get your CCW. However, before we start shooting, we focus on safety first at every range session. We have four firearm safety rules that apply at all times. Even when we're shooting at people, these rules still apply:

1. Treat all guns as if they're always loaded. Even if you've checked it yourself, still treat it like you know it's a loaded gun.

2. Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you've made a conscious decision to shoot.

3. Never let the muzzle cross anything you're not willing to destroy.

4. Be sure of your target, what's beyond it, and what's between you and your target.

Learn Your Firearm Workspace

When using a firearm, your workspace is your elbow to your rib cage, and it's the same every time. Anything you need to do with your pistol is in your vision. You don't want to lean down to do your reloads. This is a bad habit to get into. You won't have situational awareness and what's going on.

Remember, we are training to defend ourselves. We are not training to shoot on the range.

Register

There are fundamentals for shooting a pistol well. The first one is situational awareness. We don't practice skills in isolation. We practice skills as they relate to real life. The second is safety. You're going to learn all of this and more if you register to get your permit to carry in MN classes at the Gun Permit Center.
